EAHC/Empire

Geneseo Youth Hockey/ Livingston Blues plays in the Empire Amateur Hockey Conference against similar youth hockey organizations in the Rochester area. EAHC is comprised of teams from Canandaigua Youth Hockey, Batavia Ramparts, Geneseo Youth Hockey, Monroe County Youth Hockey, Rochester Jr Amerks Youth Hockey, Tri-County Youth Hockey, Rochester Youth Hockey, Edge Girls and Webster Youth Hockey. Teams will be placed into Red, White or Blue divisions to provide an appropriate level of competition if there are at least 15 teams in the age classification. Age group evaluations will be held in March/April to determine the levels of players in each age classification.

Ages

Divisions exist for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U aged players.

Parents should note that 18U teams are typically 16U with a some 17U players included. 18U players are usually players who have late year birthdays and are completing their senior year of high school (having more than 1 or 2 is unusal).

When

Tryouts/evaluations are held in March (10u-12u) and April (13u-18u). 8U evaluations are held in early September. Season begins in September after Labor Day and runs until playoffs at the end of February. Teams may elect to continue their seasons by playing in March Tournaments.

Where

Practice and home games are scheduled primarily at SUNY Geneseo Ice Arena, but sometimes will be scheduled at other arenas depending on ice availability and time of year. Away games will be played at the ice rink utilized by the team's opponent.

Practices

Practices are generally twice a week once the SUNY Geneseo rink opens on 10/1. In September, practices are less consistent as they are scheduled at other rinks. Every effort is made to setup a consistent schedule however events at the College and High School Games may cause some variation in the practice schedule.

Games

8U teams play in 14 1/2 ice games (7 Home, 7 Away). 10U & 12U teams play a 16 game season (8 Home and 8 Away). 14U teams play a 18 game season (9 Home & 9 Away). 18U teams play a 20 game season (10 Home & 10 Away).

Jerseys

One jersey and one pair of game socks are supplied as part of the Registration Fee.

Extra Costs

Teams should have a team meeting early in the season and set expectations for additional costs. Examples of additional costs are: scrimmage games, tournament entry fees and team parties/events. Extra team costs are generally collected by the Team Manager.

Livingston Blues apparel is available at extra cost. Players are expected to provide their own equipment and skates

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a refund if my child misses practice or games?

Registration fees are set per team assumming everyone attends all events. Ice, uniforms and referees, once booked, can not be returned for a credit.
